Did you know we ADDers get our very own awareness month! Yep, that’s right, October is our month to shine, share & support.

ADHD Awareness Month

There’s even a website – ADHD Awareness Month – dedicated to demystifying ADHD and sharing knowledge! The site lists lots of interesting events and useful resources from a variety of well-known ADHD organizations – Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), the ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO), Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD), ADDitude Magazine and the National Resources Center on AD/HD.

To kick off our special month, check out this round up of 20 Common Symptoms of ADD & ADHD in Women from Health Central.

For those of us that have been living with (and, depending on the day, embracing or struggling with the ADHD cards we’ve been dealt) these symptoms may not be news. On the other hand, you might be surprised to find a card or two you didn’t know you’ve been holding all along. I couldn’t help but snicker as I tallied up mine.

Hop on over to Common Symptoms of ADD & ADHD in Women & check out ’em out.

Were they all familiar friends/foes? Or did one or two surprise you?

Come on back & share your ADD cards in a comment below. I’ll be sharing mine in a few upcoming posts.

Oops, I almost forgot, there’s also a hashtag to follow on Twitter  – #ADHDawareness.
