ADHD Awareness Month came to close last week. It was a month chock full of ADHD-related Google alerts and emails, informative articles and webinars – it was enough to make an ADDer’s brain spin out of control.

But I’m happy to report I managed to keep my filters in place, deleting mercilessly, focusing on only the most revenant and intriguing. I even managed to split my hyper-focus – keeping my long-overdue site redesign moving forward. (I’m hoping to launch the new look next week. Pray for me!)

Over the course of October my editorial calendar filled, and my post idea, reading and viewing lists grew substantially.

Last week, in the midst of all the busy-ness (and occasional time waiting), I actually obeyed my reminders and alarms and logged into ADDitude Magazine‘s webinar, Live a Great Life with ADHD: Best Medical and Natural Treatments with Dr. Ned Hallowell.

I’ve been a fan of Dr. Hallowell’s balanced and encouraging ADHD message since first reading Driven to Distraction many years ago, and last week’s webinar did not disappoint.

With all the balls I’ve been attempting to juggle lately (Thank God that wonderful husband of mine picked up the laundry ball I dropped weeks ago, otherwise we’d all be wearing dirties dug out the hamper!), the negative self-talk was getting louder and louder in my head, but Dr. Hallowell pointed out that every negative has a positive.

ADHD-flip-sides

It’s so easy to focus on the negatives of ADHD, and that negative Nelly in my head can quickly gain the upper hand, but Dr. Hallowell’s ADHD flip sides were just the ticket to quieting the negative prattling in my head.

The ADHD flip sides are going up on my office wall to remind me to stay focused on the ADD positives – ’cause when I’m focused on the positive I keep moving forward, staying one step ahead of the negativity waiting to seize control.

Dr. Hallowell shared lots more useful information and helpful advice during the webinar – you can check it out here –   Live a Great Life with ADHD: Best Medical and Natural Treatments.

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you have a terrific weekend.
